Tatum was born and raised in East Texas and developed an early connection to healthcare when her father was diagnosed with leukemia in 1996. Inspired by the compassionate care provided by the staff at M.D. Anderson in Houston, she developed a deep respect for the medical field. However, after her father’s passing, Tatum initially stepped away from any aspirations in healthcare, finding the emotional toll too great.
Her career began in clerical roles at a non-profit OB-GYN office, eventually progressing to supervisory positions within Genesis PrimeCare, an FQHC in her hometown of Marshall, TX. In 2019, Tatum relocated to Tyler, TX, where she managed a larger practice in another FQHC, Tyler Family Circle of Care. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic renewed her calling to provide direct patient care, leading her to pursue a nursing degree at Tyler Junior College.
Following graduation, Tatum began her nursing career on the Neurology Med-Surg unit and Neuro/Trauma ICU at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital. Now in Klamath Falls, she brings a heart for service and a strong commitment to supporting and empowering the KHP team. Outside of work, Tatum loves cooking, spending time outdoors with family and friends, and enjoys the company of her chocolate standard poodle, Briar, who would love to meet everyone!
